Dear Friends of St. Joseph

Welcome to the first annual edition of St. Joseph Health System’s new web-based communication system. By following links at the top of this page, you can access our FY 2008 Annual Report, Report to the Community and Philanthropy Report. I hope you will take a few minutes to “click through” the links. Inside you will learn about exciting initiatives within ministries to improve clinical outcomes, patient and employee satisfaction and access to care.

In previous years, each of these publications was produced as a glossy, printed document. While those printed pieces were effective and generally well received, we opted in 2008 for a state-of-the-art web-based distribution process because it offers a number of significant advantages.

These publications can still be printed for hand-to-hand distribution, but their existence “on the web” makes it possible for many more people to have convenient access to them. As a result of their digital format, it is possible to include much more in-depth information about the exciting new programs, services and accomplishments of our ministries. We reduced overall production costs by eliminating the need to print thousands of hard copies. Those financial resources can now be applied to other, more appropriate needs. And last but not least, we clearly “saved a whole bunch of trees.”
