The Covenant Health System Foundation has been conducting a comprehensive assessment of its mission and organizational structure in order to maximize their effectiveness and benefit to Covenant Health System. The Foundation's Annual Giving Program has been restructured as part of that process.
A special Memorial Day direct mail campaign raised $13,946. A similar spring appeal addressed funding for the Neurosciences Institute and has raised $9,823, to date. A direct mail campaign offering recently discharged patients an opportunity to contribute has been successful and the ongoing employee campaign “Covenant Cares” provided $496,687 to fund 41 important projects at Covenant facilities.
Thanks in part to the generosity of our communities and staff in FY 2008, Covenant Health System has been able to invest $9.4 million to support the physical and spiritual health of our community.
Grant Development Successful
The Covenant Health System generated a total of 56 grant proposals in FY 2008, with 80% coming, or incorporating significant input, from the Foundation. That output constituted 150% of the Foundation's grant goal.
Grants ranging from $500 to $250,000 brought in over $490,000 for Covenant programs, including mobile mammography, a new mobile dental coach, community health screenings, pediatric oncology, childhood obesity, a cardiology symposium, breast health, smoking cessation, medical equipment for Covenant Children's Hospital, JACC's Chorus of Angels, rural health care and other important initiatives.
